WALSALL WOOD 0  SHIFNAL TOWN 0

Midland Football League, Premier Division

Saturday 6 November 2021

A truly dreadful game of football ended with the scoreline it deserved! Neither side had a shot on target during the whole game. The nearest to a goal in the first 45 minutes came after 28 minutes, when Rees Wedderburn’s corner was headed wide by Connor Hughes for the visitors.

4 minutes into the second half, home keeper Lloyd Ransome made the only save of the game, when a suicidal back-pass by Phil McKerdy almost caught him out. 4 minutes later in a rare moment of quality, Shifnal’s Jake Webb made ground on the right, but his low cross saw Wedderburn crash the ball against the upright. Kamol Campbell and Lewis Hayden both had long-range efforts for the hosts which were way too high. Most people in the ground breathed a sigh of relief when the referee blew the final whistle.
